"Reviews are actually doing the Sale for us!"The review system is probably the best thing that could have happened to my business trading as Blue Star Connect. Customers that call usually comment about the reviews they have just read and enquire about when we can come through to have their job done. Pricing has actually become of secondary importance. It seems the reviews are actually doing the sale for us!

"Gets honest answers from the patient how they felt in our branch"Alok has been very helpful in coping our business with the latest technology. He introduced us with the online video feedback program and later implementing the system to get the customer feedback online. The technologies he provides to us has been really helpful for our business to grow further and get the honest feedback from customer. This technology has been really helpful in getting the direct comments from our customer and enhance our service much better. Also, the service and the follow up provided by Alok has been awesome and we would highly recommend him as well.

Whether you like it or not…whether you realize it or not, chances are that your business is already being talked about online. The question then, becomes, ‘what are you going to do to take advantage of the awesome opportunity that this represents?’Make no mistake about it, having your company, products, or brand talked about online is a MASSIVE opportunity. If you’re not engaged in that conversation, and if you’re not taking advantage of the power of reviews on your own company’s website, then you’re leaving money on the table.
Reviews equal sales. It’s as simple as that. Here are a few fast facts for your consideration [3]:
39% of customers search for local businesses online at least once a month
15% of customers search for local businesses online on a daily basisFully 88% of customers read reviews before deciding whether or not they’ll do business with that company. The reviews are what they ultimately base their decision onCustomers don’t tend to read just one or two reviews. 85% of customers surveyed said they read up to ten, before making a decisionNearly three out of four customers (72%) say that their trust in a company or brand increases when they read positive reviewsNearly nine people in ten (88%) say they trust online reviews as much as they trust personal recommendations – in other words, an online review left by one of your customers is almost as good as a personal recommendation to a reader who comes along later
Many business owners, especially small business owners, tend to shy away from reviews on the thinking that a negative review will hurt their business. Here’s the reality:
As mentioned above, the reviews are being left on other sites like Yelp or Amazon (depending on what business you’re actually in), so pretending they’re not there isn’t going to help you
Even if you get a negative review, if you respond to it in a professional manner, other people who read that review and response will be more than twice as likely to consider doing business with your company71% of people who read a negative review and your company’s professional response report having their perception of the company changed for the better, because it communicates that you cared enough to respond in person
Those are the relevant stats about the power of reviews, and they are compelling. The bottom line is that reviews are social proof. They are the best evidence you can provide to a potential customer that your company is worth considering doing business with, and given how trusted online reviews are by the public (remember, almost as good as a personal recommendation from a friend), you’d have to be crazy not to take advantage of the power and potential they represent! The next question then, becomes one of how.How can your business leverage the awesome power of customer reviews as social proof? There’s good news on that front, because there are a growing number of “best practices” you can start putting into place immediately that will help you capitalize on any existing reviews you might have, make it easier for your customers to leave reviews, and put their power to work for you. Here’s a quick overview:
Your Existing WebsiteHow long has it been since your website got an overhaul and redesign? If you’ve been using the same basic design for more than two years, it’s definitely time for a change. The single biggest and best change you can make is to proudly feature your existing customer reviews right there on the main page of your site.Today’s internet savvy customers value transparency more than anything. By placing your great reviews on your website it communicates your reputation based on past experiences of other customers. Of course on other sites your reviews are on display, both the good and the bad, with your responses to the negative ones (it’s also a good idea to respond to the positive ones too, of course) out in plain sight for everyone to see.The second big thing you can do in terms of overhauling your site is to make it easy for customers to leave a review for you. Understand though, that many customers won’t actually bother to leave you a review unless you ask, so be sure to build a request for a review into your site at various points. This could include a review capture box in the sidebar of your site, a politely worded request for their feedback on the digital receipts and emails you send out when customers make a purchase, and another polite request for their feedback on the “thank you” page you redirect your customers to, once a purchase has been completed. The more you ask for their opinions, the more likely they are to give them to you, and as we’ve demonstrated with the stats, that’s good for business.
Transparency & Customer EngagementWe mentioned before that today’s customers value transparency more than almost anything else, so it deserves a closer look. Transparency in isolation though, isn’t quite enough. Today’s customers aren’t just looking to buy a product from you, they’re looking for a relationship with the companies they do business with.Which would you prefer, to sell one customer one product or service in their lives, and never see them again, or to completely captivate that customer by engaging with them in a positive way, and wind up having them as a customer for life? It’s just no contest. The companies that strive to truly engage with their customers, using the internet as the platform for doing so are going to be hands down, more successful than the ones that do not. That engagement begins with the customer review, but it certainly doesn’t end there.Reviews are, after all, but one form of social proof. The other form of social proof you need to be paying close attention to is the power of social media. Understand that there is some overlap here. After all, a comment left by a member of your circle of friends on Google +, or by one of your Facebook friends is pretty much the same as a review left by someone on Yelp or one of the other major review directories. You need to be a part of that conversation, and if you don’t already have an account on at least one social media platform, then you should strongly consider setting one up today! Not only does having an active presence on one or more social media channels give you another opportunity to talk about and display the reviews you’re getting, it also gives you a natural and convenient way to engage with your customers on a more personal level.Remember, customers don’t just want to buy your product or service, they want a relationship with the companies they choose to do business with. Your company and your brand is your story. It’s probably a pretty interesting one, and it’s a shame that your customers don’t know more about it. You can change that, starting today.Be warned, however, this new way of relating to customers (asking for reviews, engaging with them on social media) is not a “one and done” thing. It’s an iterative, ongoing process. It won’t do you any good to simply add a review capture box on your website if you never do anything with them. It won’t do you any good to create a Facebook page, only post occasional updates and never actually respond to any of the comments you get.Yes, all of these things take time and effort, but your business is worth it, isn’t it? And at the end of the day, this is increasingly how business gets done on the internet. If you’re not a part of that conversation, you are going to be left increasingly farther behind by your competitors who have taken the time to understand and take advantage of the awesome power that social proof in all its forms represents.
The Bottom LineAt the end of the day, it comes down to this: There’s probably already a low undercurrent of conversation happening somewhere on the internet about your business. It’s going to keep happening whether you do anything to respond to it, or take advantage of it, or not, so hiding from it, or pretending it’s not there isn’t going to help you.Given that, the best thing you can do is jump in and engage. Take advantage of existing reviews and start encouraging your customers to leave more for you, because every review you get makes it more likely that you’ll get more sales. That’s true even for the bad reviews you cringe inwardly at when you read or hear about.Social proof is a fact of life in today’s business environment. If you have it, your bottom line will inevitably increase. If you don’t, you’ll struggle to make sales and grow your business, so the question is, are you ready to take your business to the next level? Are you willing to invest the time it takes to make a few simple changes to the way you’re currently doing business, with the payoff being more satisfied customers than you’ve ever had, and a healthier bottom line? When you’re ready to take the next step, contact us, and we’ll be happy to assist. We can not only help you make the necessary changes to take your business to the next level, but also automate much of the process, so it's as hands free as possible.
